Tire sizes

Good evening, This is the beginning of antique tractor pulling for me, so if I post alot of dumb questions bear with me.
I have a 1951 ZA, I like it because of the swing seat and how a MM pulls.
The frist of many questions is what size tires will be good for pulling? My brother pulls an R and runs 12.4x38 field & road stones on 12" rims. Would this be good for a ZA mostly stock? I'll only pull in 4500 lb class. Thanks Mark H.

I have 13.9x36, 12" rims, on my '37 JTU, mostly stock with bored 206, does well in the 5500# class, gotta learn to read the track. The Firestone tread angle is the desirable one.

the za is the best pullin tractor in the 4500 class tire size dont matter its how you read the track i live in lansing were are you dave

Dave, I'm Pete Hendricksons brother We've been to your house and seen all your GOLD.I talked to you in Kinross, Pete won the dead pulls with his UB and AC. He sold me a 1951 ZA That I'll pull.

Hi, I,m Dave's daughter. He doesn't usually get on the computer, I do for him. I think I remember you up in Kinross with the guy with the Moline's. I didn't see you at the pancake breakfast. So, what kind of Moline did you say you have? My dad has several gold tractors. We are trying to schedule a meeting for all the Moline enthusiasts in this area.

Hey Coleen, Yes you and I talked so what in Kinross, My brother Pete is the one who pulls and just got me started!!Your dad had us out to tour your farm,You all have some sweet tractors, I just wish your dad would part with some of His Gold (just kidding)Sounds kinda cool putting a get together going, Maybe I,ll stop by and talk to your dad about some tractor ideas I have and start a plan. Well if a MM show around Lansing ever occured, between Dad and I, there are ten gold machines to contribute. (And 2 oddball colors haha.) Neighbors have half a dozen or so too. As for Dave? I never tried to count all of them. Married on an MM? Never thought of that. Neat idea!

Hey guys. I'm another MM guy in the Lansing area...well over in Vermontville. I've got a pile of gold over there too. I know Russ and get back and forth with Dave regularly. Gee Dave, I didn't know you were on-line. It would be good to know another MM guy in the area Pete, so shoot me an e-mail. I am always buying, selling, or trading something from my MM stash. I will be putting old 13.6-38 Goodyears on my R sometime. We'll see how that works out. The 10x38 might have to do for now.

Mopower, I'm have friends that live in Vermountville,Mike & Michel Siple. We go camping with them. As Coleen was saying a get together would be great not just to by sell trade things but to trade ideas, plan going to pulls and teach the new guy.Mopower Pete is my brother and they some times call me Mark. What are up to now 4-5 MM people in Lansing This could be cool! Talk more later Mark H

I know Bob Siple and family. Bob has sheep not more than a mile or two from me. I live in town and have a GBD, UBD, UTU, RT, Jet Star, Massey 44, and a 112 Hydro. Supposed to pick up a ZT soon. Dad is out of town a mile or two and has an M5, UB puller, UTU, Jet Star 2, and various equipment. Grandpa lives across the street from me and runs his business with vintage Caterpillar power. He has a 1939 JD H with Dad and also a M-H 44-6cyl. I have sold or traded a 5 star, two UBDs, UTS, UBD special, UBU, U302 wheatland axle, UTU, 1939 RT (now Daves), Uni-Harvestor (was Daves). Needless to say I love the gold stuff! I have neighbors that have half a dozen or more too. Rex Cook and family. They are great folks and love hauling their MMs to as many shows as they can. Can't say as I've seen you or Pete before, but probably have. Keep in touch! We could have quite a MM show you know!

go with 9x36 there real narrow and give you a lot of traction make sure hitch is not low thanks glenn
