Boom poles on 3pt??

I just bought the TSC stores Boom pole to try on my JS3 3pt. They no longer have the heavier duty one, so got lighter one, still lifts 500 lbs. I was told to be real careful with this, it moved kinda fast. Anyone have one or use one that can offer hints. It didn't come with any papers or use suggestions, so on my own. I'm hoping I can go high enough to get grain sides off my truck. They're up pretty high! I would like to move engines and tranny's and such around yard too. Will I be liftin' the tractor at the front? Working on a loader for it too, should be more useful when done, but this pole will have to do for now.

GL, Had a friend with a garage who used a boom pole to lift motors, etc, with a 5000 Ford tractor. Worked great until one day he decided to use it to put a non running car into the shop. He hooked to front end and lifted it fine. Then he started pulling forward in a circle so he could then back it into shop door. As soon as he turned the tractor the boom pole bent and folded like paper. The car front end then dropped like a rock. Luckilly no one was hurt. Seems the booms are designed to lift vertically, but any side motion and they bend and break. I would not want to lift grain bodies. They would be too unwieldy and any swinging motion could be dangerous. Only lift heavy things as little as possible and leave them as close to the ground as possible when moving them.

1. G.L. I though you said you had a loader for that.
2. If it'll (the tractor) lift 500# on the end of a boom pole, your little MM's hydraulics are doing pretty well. My 335 won't.
3. Go slow. play with your rate control levers some to slow the drop and lift speed down.
4. Go Slow. Anything on a boom pole becomes a HUGE PENDULUM. any slight up/down left/right movement of the tractor makes what's on the boom pole swing wildly.
