Looking through some stuff at a friends salvage yard he just brought in, and came across this one. a MM standard tread military tractor it has a brass Corp of Engineers tag on the left front of upper hood, numbers on the side of block on left side looked like 206F4 051004 these looked like casting #'s. It looked like it had the siamesed (cast in pairs)cylinders and heads with small sized spark plugs all which were out, engine is stuck, the crank sticking out front wouldn't turn. It did have starter and generator with battery box on r.h. side right by the fuel tank and the steering shaft with a universal joint on the left side also appeared to have a foot throttle, couldn't get close enough to read much,(had on Sunday clothes), did look at the operators station, seat and steering wheel are offset to the left side. The left fender has 2 brass Air Force tags,could read enough to see it said Minnieapolis-Moline, Model ZASI and tried to read s/n, looked like; 040600405,hard to read from the angle I was looking at. Tractor seems to be fairly complete,maybe except for air cleaner connector pipe to carb, and regulator and small items had huge tires anout 10.00x24 or 28 inch rears and 15,or16s on the front. Painted yellow(peeling in large spots), sheetmetal is not too bad of a shape, has some surface rust but no holes or tears visible, rims looked to be fairly decent and tires holding some air still. Was this an airplane mover? It has drawbar with a step right beside it and no pto, or hydrualics that I saw. Any idea of the year model? Sight unseen anybody want to make a guesstimate of value and collectivity of this beast? Were there many of them made? Does anybody deal with MM industrial types like they do the JD's and IHC's?
