Clarification of MM model numbers

What does ZTU stand for, I plan to restore and add decals, will a decal set for a Z be the same as the ZTU?

Well their is a ZTU, ZTN, ZTE, ZTS, ZTI, ZTX, ZAN, ZAU, ZAU, ZAS, ZASI, ZM, ZBU, ZBE, and a ZBN.

The for the U's their is the UT, UTS, UDLX, UTU, UTC, UTN, UTE, UTS-D, UTSD-M, UTSG, UDU-D, UBU, UBE, UBN, UBU-D, UBE-D, UBN-D, UB Special, UB Special Diesel, UTI, UTI-D, UTIL, UTIL-D, UTIL-M, and the UMIL. Basically all of them had 283 CI engines, rated from around 33 HP to around 45 HP stock, except for the UMIL which is a basically a U Industrial with a Shuttle-Shift and a GTC 340 CI engine. It is pretty rare to see one of those though.

Of course each model has their own distinctive differences.

So basically ZTU stands for a Universal Z Model Tractor. A red-nose Z shouldn't need any decals besides two 4x7" MM's for the gas tank. BTW, what year is your ZTU? I've got one also.

If you have any more questions don't hesistate to ask. I would also recommend getting some books on MM's. I could recommend at least one to you. I've got three.

All models except S Standard tread and I were considered Universals because they could mount cultivators as well as pull implements.

Yes, a good decal set for a Z should work for a ZTU. Most kits for Z's include the decals for ZA's. I know this is confusing, but ZA is the second version of the ZT.

You won't be needing the long hood decals, though.

I had an old MM grain drill for several years, I believe it was a R5-10 model
