hello, i am oliver guy who has wanted a moline for awhile now. i located a 1951 rtu. it is stuck with poor rubber but decent metal. missing is carb, starter, waterpump. my only problem is i know nothing about them yet. the fellow wants me to make offer. i hate that. can anyone give me an idea of worth. also any idea if i will be able to purchase the parts i need. if you have them for sale please email me. thanks a bunch.

Sounds like you found one like my ZTU! It was in worse shape than what you're saying about yours. Use chevy valves, you can overbore it & use up to .060" jetstar pistons if the cylinders are really pitted. This is .180" over stock bore. A blind hole boring bar is used in the cylinders. I had a boat shop do mine. Runs like a top & pulls great.

The engine on this model has blind bored cylinders, no real way to get to the top of the pistons to knock it loose. There are ways to get this engine loose but they are hard on the cylinders or dangerous to you heath. (injecting grease in to the cylinder through the spark plug hole with a grease gun). The tractor is worth more as parts than a complete restorable tractor. I'm not saying it can't be done just very time consuming and frustrating. Your best bet is to purchase a complete loose engine and replace the one that is stuck. As for price $100 to $300 depending on how complete and original.
