Hi,
Anyone know the injection pumps used on the MM's? I know they were Roosa Master and Am Bosch (Standadyne). Does anyone know the model or series? I would like to go through one for a project and would like to know which pump it is. Doesn't really matter what tractor they come one i.e. GBD, M5, M670, G706, G1000, etc.
Thanks,
Trever

Hi Kev,

Would have sent you an email but your address is logged so it is hid. Got the Roosa Master DBG torn down, besides the rotor assembly with the plungers and rollers. That was a lot simpler than I thought. Should have that back together by mid-week, have some other things to do first. I think I might dive into a PSB after that. The school has some so i'm not in need of one for a training aid. Thanks for the offer though! Might be interested in a P pump if you have a P7100. Then I am planning on doing my Simms/Lucas CAV inline pump. Got to find some governor parts for it first though.

Does anyone know if they put the Roosa Master's on the tractors equipped with PSB's to increase power? I read this in the archives today and was wondering if it's true and if it would work. What's the real advantage? Why not bolt on a DC then since the DC has four plungers instead of two, or wouldn't that work? I think these pumps and injectors are fun. I might end up working at a pump shop in the end! :)

Thanks,
Trever

I believe the early Rosa Masters may have been model DB. DM series were after them. The Bosch series I think were PSB. Going through a diesel inj. pump can be very interesting and educational.

Thanks Alan!!!

I guess i'm a little familiar with those pumps. Did they use the DB's on all of the MM Diesel's? I know their are D's, DB's, DC's, and DM's in Roosa Master's pump line.

Thanks,
Trever

Back with an update. They used the American Bosch(AmBac) PSB pump on the U, UB, GVI, GB, GTB, Jet Star 4, Jet Star 5, 5 Star, stuff in that era. Then they switched to the Roosa Master(Standadyne) DB pump for the U302, M5, 504, M602, M604, M670, G705, G900, G950, G955, G1000, G1350, etc. I'm not sure about the A4T's.

I talked to my instructor and he said the Bosch PSB is pretty much obsolete so he recommended not to do just that. I could do that as an extra pump. I then asked about the Roosa Master DB. He said that he doesn't have a DB, but he has a DC. They are the same except the DC has 4 plungers unlike the DB which has two. So I have to study up the fuel flow/circuitry and relay it back to him before I can start the disassembly process. After I get that done maybe I can do the PSB if I feel like it. I also have an inline Simms as well to take apart, from my own collection.

Wish Me Luck,
Trever
