Some interesting Moline tractors recently sold at a local auction this past weekend (Ted Everetts in Monrovia, Indiana) The tractors were owned by a pair of brothers whose family at one time owned a local Moline dealership. They had a M-602 LP with FWA that had been repainted. It was well over 6000 when I left. A UB diesel that was missing the side curtains, original paint with mismatched rubber, and the usual leaks. It brought 1700. There was also a R standard (looked like a RTI but had PTO) with military markings (including the sling hooks and riveted tags showing use) It brought 1300. There was also a nice G1000 Vista Diesel, no cab, repainted with decent rubber that brought 5500. A G900 Diesel that was rough around the edges that brought 4700. There were several UT's, Z's, etc that also brought 1200-1800 range. The only other nice modern tractor an all yellow Jetstar 3 gas brought 3450 (if I heard em right).

600 orignal hrs and at a price of $2750.00 They said it came from a hospital.

Glad to see someone thought to write down all the values. I was going off of memory. For those that attended, I like the first auctioneer better. You knew what the bid was and who was on the money. They had to many callers when the second auctioneer took over and he was harder to understand. The PA was awfully loud so by the time the sale ended I was deaf.. Congrats to all the purchaser's there was some "Diamonds in the rough" and some very nice tractors there.

My son and I attended the auction and bought some tractors. The all yellow Jet Star 3 Super sold for $3000 (we bought it). The 602 sold for $7100. The most interesing tractor I saw was a M670 LP with a 3 speed torque. It was hydraulicly controlled I believe. That G1000 Vista was a real jewel too.

I went down Friday from MI to see the line up. I saw most of these machines as they purchased them before the sale. The UBD used to be mine. Boy they did a nice job on that one compared to what it was. The Vista G1000 was a beauty. It was apart and getting the new paint when I saw it last. What did the U302 Diesel bring? That's a rare piece. I would say the Big Mo 400 was rare too. What did it bring?

The U302 Diesel brought $2600 and the Big Mo 400 only brought $1000. I thought the Big Mo went cheap but I had already spent my money for the day.

I did see all but the last 4 tractors sell. My brother corrected me on FWA tractor. When I walked away they must have been "fishing" for a $6000 bid. He said it eventually sold for $3400. Only thing I can figure is the propane scared off the big money. I think the 302 brought around 3000. I should have written down all the sale amounts on one of the flyer's next to each tractor. I only paid attention to the ones I had real interest in. (I was after the Massey Pony in reality but it was real rough so I didn't bid over 375. It found a home elswhere)

We saw the M602 LP FWA sell. It brought $7100. I would have took 2 at $3400! I have all the prices written down in anyone is interested.

Well, based on what I thought the sale price was, I thought for sure that 602FWA brought only $3400.. but I have to agree, it was EXTREMELY loud and hard to hear what the price of things were. I bid on that restored RTU and thought for sure that I was high bid on it, but wasnt and I quit bidding.. thinking I was ahead and it turns out, I wasnt in the money. Same thing on the RTN. I was real surprised that some of the stuff brought what it did..

Oh well, there will be other auctions and hopefully maybe some good buys there too.

The U302 was in pretty nice shape. It could have been a low hour original given the shape of the sheet metal. The paint looked original and it was still shiny. It was the first tractor to sell and was probably one of the best deals there. Only brought $2700. Not sure of the year but it was all yellow so was 67 or later.

There was also a U302 diesel there that was not advertised. It was kinda of tired and had plenty of oil leaks. It brought $2600.

Brian, The U302 diesel was bought by my freind and spent the night in my back yard. The oil leak looked to be blow by but it was a bad valve cover gasket. It now has a new home in southern Illinois. He works at a Agco dealer and they MM at one time.

Great! Glad to hear. I thought it might have been a valve cover gasket but the previous owner wasn't sure and he thought the motor was tired. I hope your friend enjoys it. By the way if you know of any 206 or 220 diesel motors around let me know. I'm looking for one. Mines stuck solid and I've heard the parts are hard to come by.

Did you add anything to your collection? I was not able to make it to the Henderson sale as I was at the "other" MM sale trying to (with no luck) buy a MM 760 baler. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the Hoosier State!

Hey Joe,

Missed ya at the sale. It was a nice day and good to see MMs selling for reasonable prices for once. We added a 1941 RTN and 1951 RTI w/ military markings and lift hooks to the collection. Found a picture from the Roger Mohr collection that looks exactly like it. Picture shows a rifle boot on the left fender. Holes are still in the fender I think where it would have been mounted. It's original yellow paint is still showing. It wasn't painted green like most 1953 RTIM models. If you've got Peterson and Beemer's MM Farm Tractors book check out page 57.

Didn't know you were looking for a 760 baler. I'll keep my eye open up here for one. Or I'll let you know if I decide to sell mine. No plans to right now but you never know.

Enjoyed the visit but boy does the traffic around Indy stink! Sat on I-69 forever because of construction and then again by the airport on I-70. Took 37 North out of Indy to avoid I-69 construction on the way home Saturday. Nice drive with beautiful countryside. Only a few lights to deal with in the beginning with the loaded trailer. So all in all an enjoyable trip.

Glad you had a good trip, sorry about the traffic. Good to hear you added a couple more neat ones to you collection as well.

I had really hoped to at least stop at henderson's, but by the time I got all my parts loaded and back to Dad's it was too late to even try.

Definitely keep me in mind if you find another one, or want to sell yours.

Yeah, Grote's had some interesting Minnie stuff. I did my student teaching in the ag department next door to them at North Decatur High School in 1999. I lived in the community during the week, and would go home (head north)on weekends would always see Minnies out working when I went by.
I believe they used to have a pretty nice M5 but I didn't see it listed in the bill. How did the MM and NI pickers sell? Thanks.

How far north are you from? Vince kept the M5, Jetstar, and 44 ZTU. I do not know off hand what the pickers brought, but the MM went for only a couple hundred or so.

I say north, but it actually more northeast. I live in Randolph County, near Union City, 1 mile west of the Ohio line. We have a couple Minnies, an M5 gas narrow front that we use alot my dad has had for years and a brown mule uni-picker. Used to have a couple UB's,gas and diesel. Wanted to go to that Henderson sale to see that 302, Dad would like to have one, they are a handy size. Our neighbor has one we have used, it has been a good tractor for them. They bought it new and it along with a U were what they farmed 500 acres with from 1966 till 1973 or so when they bought a G900, which they still have.

Vince had two of them. The one that had a newer, but not so correct paint job went for 500. The one that was all original, but had had both needles welded brought 525.
