Hi all, we have a MM 336A-4a LP engine that is used to drive an irragation pump. The serial number on the plate is 3010087.

Can anyone give me any info on this engine as to year etc. Also, info on where to get manuals, and specs. We also need info on the oil filtering system, type of oil, and LP info.

Use Low Ash or ashless Gas Engine Oil in all LP motors. I think it only comes in 30 weight. It keeps you from burning valves with the high octane propane you get these days. Change the oil and filter every year whether it needs it or not. Come back in thirty years and put in new main bearings. Can't give you a time frame on the rings, I haven't lived long enough. (will be half century next Jan.)

This is essentially the same engine that is put in M-5, M602 and M670 tractors. You should be able to find filters by going to NAPA and asking for one for these tractors. I not for sure of the years but it could be anywhere from 1959 to 1970. Hope this helps.
