Good afternoon. my father recently purchased a 1953 U militay. it is in really good shape and he intends to restore it. I would really like to find any info on what military units these tractors were shipped to. it still has all the ser# tags and such. He plans to paint it up and put the unit numbers back on it if he can find them. any info will help, please email it to ray stark email is [email protected] thanks for the help. Ray

Does anyone out there know how many of these were built.Mine has a ser#05700027. I have seen articles stating from 42 up to 3 or4 hundred.thanks

I don't think that kind of info exists anymore. The tractors were probably all delivered to some supply depot and the military distribuited them from there.
If I were you and wanted the original numbers on the machine, I would carefully remove the paint from the hood. If it has original paint, sometimes you can read the lettering through the last coat of paint.
A friend of mine in South Carolina did this when he restored his ZASI military.

Incidentally, there was a good picture of a MM UTI military tractor in the MM Corresponder last time.
