I am having trouble getting the primer covered on my ZB with DuPont Ful-Thane paint. I have five coats on and I can still see the primer. I was told that it takes several coats but this is nuts. I painted the wheels cherry red with two coats and they look great. Is this a problem with all praire gold paints or just this brand? I used an epoxy primer that is green tinted, should I have used red? Thanks.

In the future you might consider using a white primer. I use the urethane based PPG DP48LF and have never had a problem covering it with the prairie gold.

All I know is that it takes a lot of coats to cover Rustoleum brown with MM paint too. It would probably work best to apply a light grey primer, then the Prairie Gold.

Just an observation about yellow paint: Your paint was probably mixed in a more or less clear base. The only color you have is whatever was squirted in there before it was mixed up. I ran into the same problem with a yellow color I was painting the trim of a building with this summer.
The Yellow required 2 coats,(And three wouldn't have hurt) but a basic brown mixed in the same stuff only required one.
