Some time ago I seem to remember discussion on an alternative power steering pump for either G-1000 or G-900, can't remember which. It seemed to me Mack or some truck manufacturer used the same pump and were substantially cheaper than other alternatives. I had the good luck to purchase 2 G-900's from a fellow who had used the first one for a few years and had power steering problems and bought the second one for parts. I am trying to refurbish the parts one as it is only 12 numbers different from the whole one and in relatively good shape. If anyone has ideas on what works or doesn't I would appreciate it as it would be neat to have matching G-900's. Thanks, Bruce.

Get one for a 1970's era GMC truck. GM made them for MM. They are a lot cheaper from a auto parts place than AGCO. That is where I got mine for my G1000 Vista.

MM used a lot of different pumps. I believe the discussion you are referring to was started by me, and it covered the Vickers pumps used on some models, G1000's etc. The pumps are self contained, with a square body, and a round reservoir mounted above the pump. This pump was used on some early 70's late 60's R model Mack trucks.
