Hey folks, does anyone know of good parts sources for MM's on-line? Or can you recomend parts sources with good catalogs of their inventory? I don't need any parts yet, but I want to see what is available and what the prices are. I know Welters Supply is a good source, but I'm not aware that they have a catalog available. I just want to look things up rather than make a bunch of phone calls. Thanks, Kyle Sands <>< Huntley, MN

I've been treated very well by Wilbert Kirchner- his phone no. is 815-539-6965. Welters is excellent too- and you don't need to ask for the parts guy when the lady answers- she knows her parts, too! You'll find the most valuable help comes from the older folks who have had a lifetime of experience with Molines- and they are also the ones who usually don't have much interest in computers. I guess the passing of personal contact in favor of faceless Internet or clueless "Walmart associates" is one of the things I regret about "progress". On the other hand, boards like this are great!

I know of no 'online catalog' listing much in the way of MM parts. There is a list of parts suppliers on the MM website, www. minneapolis-moline.com Most of those parts suppliers listed there really respond better to a good old-fashioned 'phone call.

I was hoping that some of the sources listed on the MM site would have a catalog of what they offered. It would be nice to have a catalog to look things up rather than having to make several calls to find what's available and then compare prices. But it's not the worst thing in the world to do either.

What I am probably going to need in the near future are connecting rod bearings for my RTU. But I may end up needing a complete engine overhaul kit.

Detwiler Equip in TX has an "on line" parts list. It is very extensive for Molines. Most of it is new not rebuilt. BUT you have to pay to enter their site. I think it's $25 a year.

Sounds like what you need are repair catalogs. Call Floyd County Museum in Charles City Iowa. Talk to Maryanne Townsend. They have most MM manuals including many original manuals. For parts call Deur Implement in Newaygo Mich. Talk to Pete Deur. A very knowledgeable and friendly person. Excellent parts inventory. Quick shipment too. The last order I placed with Welters took over 6 weeks to receive. This was for in stock parts too. I talked to Wilbert Kirchner also. Too arogant for me. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the info. I do have an RTU repair catalog. Invaluable information in those pages. It would just be nice to have parts and prices available at my fingertips so I can gauge what a repair job will cost and if I want to procede with it rather than making a lot of phone calls - it's just a convenience thing. Also, I've noticed such a huge gap in parts prices from various suppliers that it would be nice to know where suppliers are actually getting the parts - maybe we could go directly to the source and not have to pay the extra mark-ups involved. As this "hobby" becomes more of a rich man's passtime, parts prices are just going to keep going up.
