NOS block id

I have a new but old block with the casting number RE 101-a. It has the valves crossways and 3 1/2 inch cylinder.What does it fit and whats it worth,i don't have the pistons.

Larry from MD,

That block will fit any R or any of the Z series of tractors. Anything less than $100 for the block and you would be a fool. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the id.I was measureing way in the back of the barn where there are no lights.I found some pistons that are 3 5/8 but they would not go in.I guess the hard black coating thats all over it made them too tight.So one more question is this the piston for the block P318377R2?

The piston number doesn't ring a bell. Most MM part numbers for those engines started either RE, EE or 10A.
However, the pistons would use four rings: three 1/8" compression, one 3/16" oil and use a 1" dia. pin. If this sounds like your piston, its the right one.

The pistons do not go with the block then.I am going to try to sell the block ,but was hopeing I could find a buyer where i would not have to ship it or use the internet.
