Mm sickle mower

i came across a sickle bar mower about 5 or 6ft.i would imagine i didnt know they made one.this one has 4 tires with wheels on each corner.model #5 i beleive it said on the tag.what can u tell me about them.were they a good mower and did mm make very many?thanks rudy

Rudy, I believe you have a UM5 mower, it should have only 2 wheels, those being on the right side. One in front and one behind the cuter bar. They made quite afew, at least there are some here in the Northern Illinois area. The mower attaches to the drawbar with brackets and has a spring release mechanisum in case the bar hits something solid. I have some of the literature for them, showing a UM4 and UM5, so there may be more models.
