I am a farmer that collects old John Deere tractors. Went to an auction this weekend and came home with an MM GB LPG on my trailer. Can anyone tell me what I have. It is in orginal condition, rusty but straight and all there. It runs great. It seems to have cane and rice tires on the back and single rib tires on the front. It was discribed as coming from an estate in Arkansaw. Thanks for any information

i bought a 58 GB LPG about a year ago i have the manuals and would be willing to share with you what i have learned. i have found some good sources and met some good guys on this very site. try www.minneapolis-moline.com for SN#s
parts sources, tune and paint specs etc. (if this doesn't give you my e-mail reply again and ill send it)

There must have been a jillion of the GB propane tractors here in Arkansas in the mid 50s to the early 70s. They would outpull the WR9 IH and were lighter and had a lot more ground clearance than the JD rice field tractors. Still several of them around here but now mostly used on seed carts and PTO water pumps. Even U.S. Congressman Marion Berry's farm has two of them.

I own two tractors I bought out of Arkansas as well. They are 5-star's and they are set up the same way as your GB. Post the serial number and we will see what year it is. It will be on the right side of the transmission housing right next to the brake pedals.

Hello Kevin I just got back from unloading the tractor. It was midnight when we got home last night. The number is 08903146. The equipment guide I have says 1957. Is that correct? How many of these tractors were built? Here in southeast Ga. there were no Minnie Mo`s around. Thanks for the reply.

You are right on the year. MM never broke down there production numbers between gas and lp tractors that I know about. They put them in one lump sum together. If going by the other figures I have seen I would say about a 65/35. Meaning 65 percent was gas and 35 percent was lp. Diesels where in a class of there own. Either way you look at it you have a great tractor. Email me any time.
