They have the same engine. The biggest diference is the Jet Star 2 has the updated tel-o-flo hyd system with extrenial plumbing. It seems to hold up a little better.

David,

According to Nebraska tests the 445 tested at 39.87 H.P. at the Belt, maximum corrected in the Universal tractor on gasoline. The Utility tested at 39.97 H.P. The Jet Star 2 was never tested as such, but had the same engine as the tested 4-Star which showed 44.57 H.P. at the PTO, also on gasoline. Hope this helps.

Jim

I looked im I&T shop service manual. I did not find HP rating, but they both appear to be 206 cu.in. with a 7.3:1 compression ratio for gas. They have different engine model numbers. The 445 is 206H and the Jetstar is 206L-4. According to my brother, who is pretty knowledgeable about Molines, the 445 is 41 HP and the Jetstar is 44HP.

I'm thinking that if they use the same heads, same bore and stroke, same carb., same manifold, the hp. difference could only be because the governed wide open throttle is higher on the jetstar. And probably wouldn't be that noticeable.
