I have a U I'm trying to get running. I need a new set of pistons but the ones in it are not stock. I have 10A15154 jugs 10A4210 Heads and AP_95(I think) pistons. The pistons measure 4 5/8" and are marked standard and have 2 D shaped raised lobs on top. Can anyone tell me what tractor the jugs and pistons come from so I can get this U going again?

Thank you

The block #10A15154 is from an M5 moline.Years ago from Moline you could order what they called a Big Power kit.It was those pistons which are made by M&W.I had a set of those. The bumps on top of the pistons are located so on top dead center they protrude into the combustion chamber of the head.Have a machinist measure the pistons.M&W made .125 overbore pistons that still say Std on the top but are .125 over.If they are .125 overbore and if the blocks need to be bored Welters do sell a 4 3/4 bore &.060 pistons where you can use the same blocks. The head 10A4210 is a good head to use with this combo. It is a little higher compression but not too high for normal use.

I assume you have an Lp setup. The 10A4210 heads give about 9.2-1 compression with a 4-3/4 bore.
There is an M5 gasoline near here that we can't keep the head gaskets in due to detonation.

We are running a 408 cid engine at 11.8 to 1 and are having no problems with head gaskets, i can get you some good head gaskets if you need them, yes this on gas in a UB Special.

Hello
The M&W AP-95 pistons are standard bore for a M-5 at 4 5/8" the 4 3/4" pistons would be the AP-230 if everything i have been told is the truth.
If you need the AP-95 pistons i know a guy that has at least 6 new ones with rings for sale.
