I have a Twin City on steel apperrs to be painted grey the data plate is on the left side of the bell houseing in front of the belt pulley, and has the #s 3874 model HA stamped on it. I`m hopeing someone can help me identifi this tractor, as I have never heard of it and can`t find any other info. as to year, and about how many were made.

Joel,
This is a long shot but from my serial # list it looks like you might have a Twin City 20-35 built between 1920 and 1926 with a serial # range from 3201 to 4097 for that time frame. The serial #s are not broken down by specific year for the 20-35. Again this is a long shot but its the only TC in my list that shows a serial number range that includes your #. The "HA" designation is interesting though. The 20-35 lists an optional high compression head for high altitude operation. Maybe that's what the "HA" stands for. The limited info I have on the 20-35 shows the rocker arms were lubed through the valve covers and hood by small lube cups for each rocker. My pictures of a 1924 model also shows that 20-35 was cast into the lower radiator tank front. It was equipped with a 5-1/2x6-3/4 bore & stroke 4 cyl engine displacing 641 ci. I may be way off but does your tractor fit any of this description?

That's what the HA designation is for on my 17-28: High Altitude. The 20-35 may or may not be cast in the lower radiator tank, some are, some aren't, but I agree with Brian, all indications are its a 20-35. The HA makes it fairly unique.

Many thanks BMG &Curtis I didn`t find a 20-35 cast in the lower radiator tank, but on the rear top tank is casting #AT7Aleft side AT9A, right side AT8A, other casting #s mag mount TW228E oil filler AE90A. Mag is a ZR4ED26, serial 3880157. It does have 8 oilers on top of the 2 valve covers, 4 cyl 16 valve, if serial #s from 3201 to 4097 mean 896 tractors would have been built from 1920-1926? All I`m missing is the hood and everything is loose & free, the spark plugs look like it was just shut down last night.

Your part #'s match with a 20-35. Ours has the serial # 3527, but no HA. Which is O.K. it is hard enough to crank as is. The manual is little less then definate on things. If you hear a knock in the motor, remove covers on side of motor, find the rod that is loose, remove shims from bearings, tighten rod bolts to "snug" and if you can not turn motor over, you removed to many shims.
Snug converts to how many FT/LBS ???
A useful note in the manual is to prime the oil pump. If I recall, on the EX side of the motor, just behind the Rad, there will be a plug that is on top of the oil pump casting. You need to pour oil into this to prime the pump, and if I remember, this is also how you set oil pressure.
I would suggest belting it to start it, that always worked best for us. Good Luck

Sounds like you've got yourself a nice find. Unfortunately I don't have any manuals on the 20-35 so I can't tell you if the casting #s you gave match up. I would make the same assumption as you that 896 were made from 1920 to 1926. The 20-35 was rerated to a 27-44 somewhere around 1926-1928.
