Hi Guys,

I'm writing for a friend. He has a Minnie-Mo Model 602. He started it with the PTO engaged. For some reason the shaft broke when it fired. He thinks it may have been cracked for a while. Anyway, the question is, how hard is it to tear this tractor down to replace the PTO shaft? I told him I could help him if it was an Allis. Gotta love that Orange!

Dan - Gordon is right a manual is a must. I bought an M-5 (predecessor to the 602) with a broken pto shaft. It was actually broken where you would connect an implements pto shaft. To replace it I had to remove the seat and hydraulic system (or 3 point set up if it has it), remove the rear end cover, then pull the input shaft out of the tractor via the hole where the hydraulic pump is mounted. If the input shaft is broken it will be even more in depth as the shaft runs from the flywheel back. Post some more info as there are some very knowledgable MM mechanics out there who can help you as they have me. Bruce.

The best thing to do is get a manual.I think the splines went out at the flywheel hub. You most likely have to take the rock shaft off also.
