this is what i plan to do, 125ths aluminium pistons, grind cam, complete valve job, check tolerances on rocker arm shafts, check oil pump shaft, oil pump, dist bushings, govenor bushings, carb kit, electronic ignition, convert to 12 volt with 1 wire alt., is there anything else to look for? thanks in advance Peter

If you need valves, use small block Chevy. Might want to change the venturi in the carb. I ordered a kit from Motec to do this. I bored my cylinders .180 over & it runs like a top. Be sure & plasti-guage your oil pump to shim clearance right. If I remember correctly, I used Jet Star mains for the middle & rear. I also replaced the felt seals with rubber lip seals. I believe the pistons are .060 Jet Star. The governor has bushes on the horizontal shaft & you can enlarge the holes for the vertical shaft & install bushings there as well. Be sure to shim the main shaft.

Check the front main bearing. It's a ball bearing. They can go out from sitting and tiny flat spots form on the balls. If you're not sure, replace it because you have to split the tractor to pull the crank to get it out. Check with some bearing supply companys. if they have one it will be cheaper than agco.
