Hello all,

Have been looking for a good looking UB for a few years. In my travels this past week I found one on a dealer lot. It's a '53 UBU gas engine and it looks to be in real good condition. The sheetmetal including side curtains and fenders is straight, no dents what so ever, engine fires right up and does not appear to smoke. It has a better than average paint job. The headlights and rear light appear to be correct. It's missing the belt pully and hydraulic cylinder and will need new rubber fairly soon. The dealer wants $2800.00, firm. What do you MM experts think?

I BOUGHT A 54 UBE IN IDAHO SINGLE FRONT TIRE THAT WAS STUCK BUT REALLY STRAIGHT. STOLE THE THING FOR 400.OO BUCKS. THE BEST RUNNING TRACTOR I HAVE. PUT ABOUT 750.00 INTO IT TO GET IT GOING GOOD AND GOT 58 H.P. ON THE DYNO FIRST TIME. SOON I WILL DO SOME MORE TWEAKING WITH HEI IGNITION MANIFOLD AND OTHER THINGS AND SHOOTING FOR 70 H.P. IF THE THING IS IN GOOD SHAPE I THINK 1500.00 TO 2000.00. HAVE FUN.

I bought a 1953 UBE about 6-7 years ago. Paid $2000, which may have been high but in eastern PA there is not much selection for MM. It runs very well, sheet metal is very good. I plow with 3-16's and love to hear it pull with the straight exhaust!

Go to the left side of this site to MARKET PLACE and then to classifieds. Then serch for MM's. There is a UB or 2 listed there for a lot less than your prices. Good luck.

That seems a little much to me. I am selling two UB tractors. One is a straight gasoline UBU that starts good and runs good. It has straight tin and decent tires. Also with hydraulics and headlights and rear light. Asking $1250 for it. Also I have a UBD Special with E-type front axle. It is straight and clean. No fenders, but it has three-point, hydraulics, power steering, diesel motor, and more. Fair tires. #18 of 520 built. Asking $1500 for it. I have pictures available of both. I'm in Michigan. I'm no expert but I think that's too much. Seems a UB can get bought for a lot less than that. I have one that sounds like it was in about the same shape that I bought for $1,100. I bought a UB Special yesterday for $800.

Last year a guy I know had a UBE Propane for sale. Not sure of the year... It is in central Illinois, if you are interested I can check and see if he still has it. As I recall it was in pretty good shape. I don't remember the price but it was less then 2800.
