Could anyone tell me what this tractor is worth? I'm pursueing buying it from a guy. The engine is stuck, the tractor is in rough shape, the tires are all bad, the sheetmetal is fair to bad, missing hood side panels, etc. I have no idea what the serial number is. I haven't seen the tractor yet. We've been talking over the phone. The guy wants $1000 for it. People have told me to start at offering him $750. What do you guys and gals think?

I was thinking about not getting my hopes up on a UB Special and getting three other tractors for less money. I went yesterday and payed the guy that I bought some parts and tractors from. The more I thought about it, I don't absolutely need a UB Special. So I asked this guy prices for some tractors. There was a UB there that I had been thinking about buying. He originally wanted like $350-$400 for it. I went back yesterday and he said he would sell it for $200. It's all complete besides the muffler, possibly the starter, the front wheels, and there is parts missing on the hydraulics. He has all of the parts to make it complete. So I thought that was pretty cheap. So then I asked him about a ZAU that he had. I saw it last time I was there and he actually started it up and ran it last time. He tried starting it yesterday but it was too cold. I asked a price. He said he wanted to get rid of it because his nephew wanted it and he didn't want to haul it all the way to his nephews. So he said he'd sell it for $600. Again, I thought that was pretty cheap considering it runs and this ones is all complete besides it has one John Deere wheel in back instead of a MM rear wheel. He said that I could replace that wheel with another wheel from another tractor of his for free. He said he actually drove it around one day. And then he had a G that ran and seemed to be complete and a GBD that ran and seemed to be complete. He wanted I think $900 for the G and he didn't say what he wanted for the GBD. Also there were two UTS's, one straight block and one split-block. They were all mostly complete and they were at one time loose or ran. He said he wanted $1500 for the pair. I didn't think the G's and the UTS's were that good of a deal so I passed on them. Also my eyes got caught on an old 21-32 with cutoffs that he had there. I believe it was missing one rear rim and the fenders weren't the best. I asked for a price and he agreed with $150. I thought that was really cheap. So I planned on getting the UB for $200, the ZAU for $600, and the 21-32 for $150. That put's me at $950 for the three. That still put's me under what they wanted for those UB Specials, and I also end up with three tractors.

Does that sound like a better deal?

one on E-BAY went for $950 4months ago it was complete and running and very straight, I hate i missed it, can you believe it only had one bid!

Sounds a little high for a stuck one. I'm sure I would start at about half what he is asking. That way you could get your money back if you sold the heads. Probably 3210's

deadeye, Do you mean 4210 heads? My UB Special LPG has 4210 heads.
