had valve cover off because of stuck valve , freed up valve but cant adjust a couple valves because adjuster is to short unless hold down nut is taken off i think rocker arms are wore quite a bit can i just get a longer bolt and put that on to get proper valve adjustment??

Sounds like your rocker arms are bent due to the stuck valves. They should straighten out pretty easily on a hydraulic press if you do it slowly. I've done this a few times and they worked well. Still running after 6 years.

I've never had that problem, but if you think your rocker arms are worn, you can remove them pretty easily by taking the nut off between the pair for each cyliner and pulling the shaft and pair of rockers out together.

I've seen some with groves worn in them from riding on the cam, but never so badly there was no adjustment left.

Are you sure valve is seating? If there is something under it, it won't seat & you will not adjust it. Back off adjustors for both valves on a specific cylinder & do a compression test.

Are you using a 12 volt battery on the 6 volt starter? If so, this could spin it fasy enough to still achieve the 75# reading, which sounds low anyway. I've just never heard of a engine that is as bad wore as you say, but anything is possible!

Try removing the nut and adjuster completely. Then put the nut on the other side of the rocker arm. It makes adjusting the tappet a little tougher, but it will allow you more adjuster travel. You may have to remove the rocker arm to do this, but as was stated before it is as easy as removing one nut.

Just my opinion.
