Can Anyone Help????
I am restoring a tea 20 ferguson tractor, with Vanguard engine (unsure). The engine was in bits when i bought it. Can anyone tell me which way the conrods and pistons are positioned in engine. ie conrod number to or away from cam, and split in piston to or away from cam.

Please reply my topic, or email me at [email protected]

hello Pete
the conrod caps (and nuts) will face away from the cam. there should be a mark on the piston saying 'front'
good luck

if the caps are not straight in line with the rest on the conrod, there angle will lead away from the cam side of the engine.

I don't quite follow the nuts and cap one, There is a number on the caps (1-4) Which side do these go? there is no markings on this particular piston.

Thanks

Pete.look at the bottom end of the rod.there should be a oil spray hole.the hole is to be positioned away from the camshaft.
