I have found someone selling the above tractor and wondered if anyone had any comments about the performance of this particular MF tractor.

Any feedback would be appreciated as I have not been able to find out much about it. Also, does anyone have a ballpark idea about the market value of this tractor which is running and appears to be in good condition.

I was using a MF-135 which ran fine but got bogged down brush-hogging thick, tall brush. I went to the MF-245 and it has performed flawlessly all day long without complaint. I can never bog it down, although I've replaced quite a few shear pins in the cutter. The dealer knows the value of this tractor as I paid top dollar for it, but am happy with my choice.

Our 245 is probably the best tractor we have owned Our's has an Allied loader and remotes and pound for pound, hp for hp it has done more work than our bigger tractor MF 255.When we got the 245 we dumped a JD 1120 which was the poorest tractor I ever owned. Our 245 does shimmy a bit at road speed, but then again if I need to go to town I take the truck. It never is a problem in the field. Our local MF dealer tried to talk me into trading ours for a new one and offered me $ 12000.00 Can.

Around here (NC), I've never seen a 245 advertised for less than $7,000. I paid more than that for mine 6 years ago but it was in great condition and has remote hydraulics.I have a 1979 model and I don't know how much the model has changed year to year. I'm very happy with mine. It's dependable, has good power (44 hp) and is easy to work. I have had no problem with the steering or shimmy at road speeds.

THE MF245 TRACTOR IS A GREAT TRACTOR.IT IS NEWER VERSION MF135 WHITCH WAS A GREAT TRACTOR.IF IT IS DIESEL IT HAS A A152 PERKINS ENGINE.THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM THIS TRACTOR HAD WAS THE STEERING.SOME TIMES WHEN YOU DRIVE IT FAST THE FRONT END WILL SHIMY.THIS IS NOT A BIG PROBLEM.I WOULD THINK THIS TRACTOR IS WORTH $4000 UP. GOOD LUCK LANCE

Dear Lance - Thank you so much for your help. You are right about the shimy in the front end. Thanks very much.
