I have a MF35 with serial number SNM281752. Can anyone tell me what year model this tractor is and what the SNM means? Thanks in advance for any help.

Victor - it appears that you have a UK-built 35 (FE-35). Serial numbers for 1962 of that model ranged from 267528 to 307230, making your tractor a '62. S=standard chassis, N=Perkins diesel engine, and M=Dual-stage clutch. Hope this information helps.

Right on, except for the little fact, that the last Ferguson FE-35 was rolled out in 1957/58 and was gold/grey, (referred to as the Golden Bird here in Denmark) So this makes it a genuine red/grey Massey - Ferguson MF-35.

My serial is SGM 244521 and it is believed to be a 1965 model. However I am no expert.

MF35 began serial number 247605 in their last year of production records that I have access to, 1964. That would say that your tractor was the 34,147th tractor produced that year. Hmmmmm m??? I think there must be a problem here.

Re-check that number. They only made about 12,000 tractors during the year prior.

I'm guessing that the SNM means Serial Number Massey. I think all MF serial numbers start with SNM so I'm guessing that my guessing is correct.

..... .I guess.

Tyler
The S stands for Standard Width, the N stands for the Diesel A3.152 Engine, and the M stands for Dual clutch. My serial # starts with SDM, the difference being mine has the 23C Standard diesel engine. Thyge was talking about the grey/gold Fergusons and they only came with the 23C and not with Perkins diesels.
