I went and looked at a tractor yesterday. The owner had forgotten what brand it was. He said it was a 1954 model and the original solid gray. Given the year model and the color I ruled out Ford 9N/2N and realized it must be a Ferguson T030. Sure enough, it was a Ferguson and it was a T030 (Z-129 Continental engine) but it had some chrome emblems on the side of the hood which read "Ferguson 35". This tractor was in pretty rough shape but was very original. This guy is the second owner of the tractor. Why would it have "Ferguson 35" on the hood if it is a 30?

you didn't say if they were the cast metal kind or a stick on label. my 35 has stickons and my 20 had the cast type but they were broken off. I have thought that I would get 35 stickers ( the only ones I can get) and cut off the 35. maybe that's what happened? BTW the 30 is a very nice tractor. I had the opertunity to get a friends. he upgraded to a MF50. i regret not picking it up!

It does have the cast emblems and both are in tact. It plainly says "Ferguson 35". I have a 1958 MF T035 deluxe with the stickers too. I know this tractor has to be a T030 because of the Z129 engine and there are a lot of things different between mine and it. I am going to try and buy it. I think with some work it will run. I cannot see offering much over $1500 for the tractor and the 5'brush hog, 5' box blade, and single bottom plow. He hasn't decided if he want's to sell it yet or not. He has had it since the very early 60's.

Sounds like someone did a hood swap. or maybe was trying to keep up with the Jones' ! I'm curious, I have seen the English 35 with a strange hood with the cast emblems. does this 30 hood have the horizontal grill bars that go all the way across without the vertical bar in the middle? My Deluxe, Standard diesel has the vertical bar in the middle with the stick on labels. I don't think you should even get close to $1500 if it doesn't run. a fair runner here goes for about $1800, try to get him to throw in the implements!
Good luck, Rob
