I recently changed the hyd-trans fluid in my massey 135 and in order to do so you have to remove the PTO lever control panel to clean the filter. I did it step by step and after I put it back in and started the tracor...it automatically statrted grinding...SO i fiddled with the level and put it securely on ground pto and it ran smoothly. And when I tried to put it on neutral it would not go but would start grinding. COuld andyone possibly tell me what may be wrong? I would greatly appreciate any help..and I am 99% i put the PTO controlss in corretly...so that just might be the problem but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Call Will Massey at Massey Tractor in Grove Hill Alabama, he knows these like the back of his hand, that is where I bought mine and he will help at the drop of a hat. His number is 251-275-3292.

i did a oil change in one of our 165's the other day

cleaned the filter, and threw her back to gether.....and filled her with oil..... certain i had done it right..... ..but it didn't work!

i though the lever was right but wasn't

take her off again, have a look in there

there should be a coller on a shaft which the lever moves.....slide it with ya hands to see if it is moving freely..... sliding it back to the backend of the tractor will engage ground pto (rocking the tractor will confirm it)

when assemblying it again..... to check the lever was in place we put a little bit of oil in the back end and turned her over on the started motor to see if it engages proberly.....before putting all the bolts in the lever assembly (put two in then turn it over)

you problem may be the lever wasn't in the groove on the collar.....just on the front of it..... .causing it to engage but not come out....the grinding maybe coming from the fact the lever isn't holding pressure on the collar

best of luck

tell us how ya get on
