already bought a brandnew and stronger battery, but no difference. Got rebuild starter last summer.

My MF 135 (diesel) takes some time to get running. Have to use the starter for almost 30 seconds,
starter turns engine very, very slow. engine temperatur doesn't make a difference. same problem regardless if engine is cold or warm.

The other weekend everything was still ok and it started with 1-2 seconds.

any ideas?

I had the same thought in the beginning as 'diesel doc', thinking it is a battery issue and finally bought a new one with 870 CCA. (I think a 550 or so is recommended)

It did not make any difference. Later I found out after using the tractor for an hour (by now the engine is definitely warmed up), it still takes almost the same time (~15sec) to startup.

Just wanna point out it does not seem to be a
temperatur issue.

Though I found out that the battery cables are corroded and look kinda funky. Now I just wait for the new parts.

Will let you guys know how it turns out.

Like the others said-check your battery, battery cables and connections first. If this doesn't correct the problem, its probably your starter. Take the starter to a reputable Automotive starter/alternator shop and have them test it for amperage draw. If it draws too many amps, then you have found your problem. Good Luck!

Perkins engines Can be a Bugger to start sometimes but Something does not sound right.
What is the CCA Of the battery might not be enough cold cranking amps to turn the engine,Fast enough to start, What ever ya do dont Crank it longer than 10-15 sec's with out taking a 1 minute break between Crankings or you will and can Burn up a starter by cranking forever. Either the starter, is not the right one,Batt is to small,Or oil is to thick for cold weather,

The gauge & condition of the battery cables
are very important, especially on the diesel.
If the cables are in questionable condition it may be beneficial to replace with the same gauge or if they seem too small then replace with the next larger gauge (ie.a 00 gauge is larger than a 0 gauge).
