DEAR BOB,
SORRY FOR SO LITTLE INFO, I AM LOOKING TO KNOW WHICH FUEL TO PUT IN THE CYLINDER THAT PUMPS UP TO THE ONE SINGLE HEATING PLUG THAT STARTS THE ENGINE, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT COULD BE DIESEL OR PARAFIN.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. LORNA

Dear Lorna,
It sounds like you do indeed have the Stardard Diesel which has the system that I described before. All of those systems that I have seen have a small chamber that sits at the back right corner of the fuel tank and is automatically fed with diesel from the tractors fuel system. A line then comes from that chamber to the intake manifold where the single glow plug burns the fuel. This takes ordinary diesel from the fuel tank. If yours is no longer connected to the fuel tank and is open for manual filling, I would use diesel or kerosene in the chamber. Good luck
Bob

Not all 35s have the system Bob describes. The mini tanks that I have seen for the system Bob describes are rectangular with no manual filler mounted next to the fuel tank.
The alternative system is called Ki-gas and has a cylindrical mini tank with a screw cap mounted on the side of the engine. As far as I know Ki-gas is not available any more but was ether based. The Ki-gas system has a separate heater and injector nozle in the manifold unlike the diesel system where the diesel is pre heated in the combined heater/injector. For this reason I suspect diesel would not work in the separte heat/inject system.
Many people who arent in too much of a hurry pre warm the 23C engine with some kind of heater and dont use either system.

Gavin
