Somewhere it was discussed to use the housing for the top link attach point. And when doing this, the hydraulic lever works like a positioner. Is this really so? Will the implement hold its position without drifting if the big spring is bypassed? This really seems to be too simple compared to the THANG, etc. Not much to do to attach to the hinge pin with a bracket for the top link. So why fool around with all these other methods?

Also, on the Zane Thang, why does one need the stop? Seems to complicate it slightly. Stops are available for the hydraulic lever slot, which if set up properly, should limit the up or down amount of the arms. I.E., if the control REALLY does work like a positioner.

Hal,

Send me an e-mail and I can send you the article I wrote for FENA's Ferguson Furrows, on how and why the position controls work.

It also includes plans on how to make your own Position control.

BTW the stop on the Position control is the key to how they work.

You'll need to send me an e-mail first as this system will not allow me to send you an attachment directly.
