I have the front loader off, but can't figure out how to remove the hydraulic pump.

It has two mounting bolts to the tractor front end, and a shaft that runs through the front end and mates to the front of the the crankshaft pulley.

Any suggestions?

Engine side on the plate that mates to pulley.

I got it off. Thanks for the information.

I had to go into the pump and turn the lower gear with a leather-lined pair of large slip joint pliers.

I did find a keyed shaft that slips into the adapter shaft, but it was froze up and I had to get it separated, then punched the pump shaft out.

Now I need to find a new hydraulic shaft or just rebuild this one. The one I took off is aluminum.

Which would you recommend?

Thanks again ... your information helped a lot.

The normal shaft is steel with a shrink on sleeve
with a keyway. They are meant to be difficult to
take off. Some earlier parts books show the coupler seperate, but not the later. Aluminum?
someone fabricated? Maybe that is ok? Good Luck

My mistake. The shaft is steel and still usable.

I meant to say that I need a new hydraulic pump or rebuild this one.

Thanks for the info Chuck, your posts are very much appreciated.

Jeff

If you have the factory set up, the shaft is a LH
thread. The easiest would be to borrow a dealers
special tool. Most of us made a tool from an old
pump center shaft welding a large hex bolt to the
other end of the splines to enable turning the shaft out. Otherwise you will need to use some
other method to grip to the splines to remove-
remember LH threads. Wish you were close-could
use my shaft set-up. Chuck

Thanks Chuck ... Are the threads on the end toward the engine (plate that mates to the crankshaft pulley) or on the hydraulic pump end?
