My pto clutch has gone bad three times and I was wondering if anyone knew of a replacement that would hold up? The dealer put in a up grade kit but it went bad also.

I have a MF 1085 with similar problems. I have owned this tractor about 6 mos. and dug about fifty post holes and the pto worked just fine pulling the digger, but when I hooked a rotary mower up to it it wouldn't pull it fast enough to cut grass. The tractor is in the shop now and is split. The mech said it needs a new clutch pack. I hope this fixes it.

What kind of implements are you running on it? If it's something that acts as a big flywheel and turns the shaft after you shut the pto off, that's whats killing your pto.

We had to use our 285 a few years on the silo blower and the pto clutch & brake took some pretty bad damage during those couple years.

I've been running a 10' Woods 121 mower with slip-clutch with a slip clutch at tractor end also but the little pins want take the pressure

Hi!

Do you mean that the slip-clutch on the mower can"t take the beating, or is it the pto clutch on the tractor that"s breaking up constantly?

I'm talking about the internal pto clutch operated by the hand lever-the one requiring the tractor to be broke in half to replace
