I recently purchased a MF 3165, my first MF tractor, and it has no 3 pt. There is a 150 in a pasture no too far from me and I am wondering if the 3 pt stuff from the 150 would fit on my 165? I am also wondering what year my trcator was made. The sn is SDA647000236. Thanks for your help.

Hi Dax, The gasket part no. for the top covers is
the same so the top cover would bolt on, but I'm
not sure that everything else would work. The
Official Guide was a book that implement dealers
subscribed to. A new issue for ea season. The ag
tractors had one book, Industrial and Outdoor
power ea had seperate books tho there is some
overlap in product. The yellow Ind book is approx
145 pgs.and covers s/n's,s/n locations,specs. of
almost any ind. equip, incl skid loaders, dozers,
skidders,excavators,crawlers,plus av resale/trade
in values, tho that would not be of much value now. The two that I have left would be choice of
1989 or 1993. $ 16 plus $ 3 pp if int. Chuck

Dax, The Official Guide shows it to be a 1965. The 3 point hitch links would go on the pins,I'm
almost certain, but would be a poor choice. They
would certainly not be the correct length and not
as heavy built as the ones on the 165/3165. The
normal 165/3165 links had the cuffs that allowed
for Catt. 1 and 2 interchangeability. This does
apply on some of the 3165 turf etc but to most.
Also if the 150 was a row crop 38" rear tires
that would further throw it off. If there is a 150 just sitting, I'm sure someone would want to
buy it and then would want the 3 pt anyway. Chuck

Thanks you for the information. For some reason, I just knew it was a 1965 model, that's what I have been telling people. What is the name of the book that you got that info from? I would like to have one. I was actually asking if the rear-end cover/lift cylinder housing that is under the seat that houses the top lift pivots would bolt up. I plan to invest in heavier lower arms. When I say it is sitting in pasture, I don't mean that I am going to steal it. I know the guy that owns it, but before I ask him about it, I wanted to find out if the lift linkage would work. It has been sitting, unmoved, in his peach orchard for at leat the last 5 years. If the lift housing is not as strong as that on a 165, I will keep looking. Thanks again.
