Was told to seek help from you. I have a 1105, 3500 hour tractor w/ new injectors that just started knocking with the new injectors. Switched the injectors to see if the knock followed the injectors but nope. I have a knock, can only hear it from right side if you are sitting in seat. Bearing gone out? What you think....

Thanks

Hi Boy

A carbon chunk stuck on an injector may had falled in one cylinder when you removed the injectors this chunk on a piston may hit the head when the piston reach TDC.

I had this situation few years ago I put double treatment of liquid injector cleaner in the fuel tank in order to dissolve the carbon pieces. I ran the engine at idle for ~ an hour...the knock dissapeared gradualy to nothing but normal clap.

As stated by previous post it may be the normal clap for this engine the fact that you put new injectors may had improved timing and combustion
characteristics causing louder (normal) clap.

If you know where is another 1105 whith engine in good shape you may ask to ear it just to compare.

Just my 2

We just installed new injectors in our 2745. The sulfer in the fuel eats away at the metal and they looked terrible. Once we installed new and adjusted the valves a slight bit, its sounding totally different. I mean totally like a new machine. It has the diesel clap sound and alot more distinct. Are you sure you have a mechanical knock, or diesel clapping? Just a thought. That 354 is a pretty good engine at 3500 hours.

From what i can tell its a knock for sure. I can pinpiont it in the engine by holding a screw driver up to me ear and holdng it to the engine. I could get a vid of it i suppose you are are interested in hearing the knock.
