MF Poor,
That is a nice looking MF that you have . Is it a 165? Gas or diesel? I would guess diesel because of the exhaust being on the left. Any way it looks very nice.

I just had one of these given to me.
(or at least I think it is the same)
It needs a lot more work, could you send me more pictures of this disc?
Is there a model or serial number on these somewhere?
Be tractor safe
Thanks in advance.
Brian

It's a model #25 Massey Ferguson disc. Earlier versions came with 6" disc spacing. They're easily identifiable as the scraper mounting bar is a smaller piece of channel as opposed to later 7-1/2" spaced versions having an angle iron scraper bar. The 7-1/2" version came in 3 widths. 8'-10", 7'-8" and 6'-6". Normally, so long as it hasn't been removed, the ID tag should be on the 3-point hitch mast, on the right side. (a 2" X 3" black aluminum plate)

My email is open. If you want more photo's, send email addy and I'll show you all the photo's I have.

Mine began life as an 8'-10" version. I needed it smaller to legally trailer with it mounted on the tractor. I removed the axles, cut them down 7-1/2", rethreaded them, then re-assembled with one less spool and disc blade per gang. Now have a 7'-6" version. (typo in above post. 7'-6" NOT 7'-8")

Here's a photo of what I started with.

I've owned several 3-point mounted disc's. I've never been real impressed with any EXCEPT this #25. They cut like a much heavier disc, leave a nice level seedbed, and with it's short coupled design, they don't overload the tractor in transport position.

This one has the gangs "locked" in place (w/ an extra bolt) remove that bolt and each gang can float somewhat independently of the others.
