The hydraulic lift leaks down a little then picks it up then repeats. I've been told this is called hiccupping. Does this indicate a leak of the lift cylinder or is it more indicative of a leak in the valving?

My 1080 was doing the same thing to a point it wouldn"t lift anything. It turned out the pump pressure relief spring had collapsed. We replaced the spring with one about an inch longer and problem went away. The mechanic first tried replacing the pump piston rings.

Good Luck
Merle
