Would you please help me, I have a Massey 65.

While using my tractor today ripping for a tree plantation, I ripped for about 10feet and the three point linkage rose full height by its self.

Will not go down using the control only drops slowly when the motor is turned off.

When I turn the motor back on it will rise again even in the down position on the controls.

Im at a loss what is causing this too happen could you please help me out.

The other thing that can happen with these tractors, apart from the excellent info already provided, is that excessive force on the top draft link (inwards), from hooking onto a stump, rock, etc, can bend the draft link mechanism inside, or the draft link can jam in thesmall hole it travels thru, between the draft spring assembly, and the linkage under the lift cover. If the two "walking beam" legs, that come down from the underside of the lift cover are tight, and wont move, you may need to remove the lift cover, (or hitch cover), and check the draft link. regards, Evan.

You should have two controls, one with a knob on it, and another split thing labeled draft. Push them both all the way forward. If the draw bar still doesn't go down, your control valve is stuck. Remove the right side cover plate (Some trans oil will come out if it is up to level, so have a catch basin handy) and you'll see the works. Move the controls levers about a little bit and you should see what the problem is.

Hi
You might try this, in addition to the previous post
If you park the tractor on a hill (barnhill) with the plate on the up-hill side you will not need the catch basin.
Be tractor safe.
Brian
