what would be leaking when I have drips coming out of the cotter pin hang out under the tractor directly under seat. I guess it is in the bell housing area.

I had to replace the rear seal in mine. Not a fun job. The new seals are no longer made of rope, but are cork. Make sure you soak them overnight in hydraulic oil before installing. I was losing about a quart per hour. A little too much of a leak.

those tractors are common for leaks at the rear oil pan gasket . the rear seal is rope and very seldom leak . the rear pan is what i would change . especially if the oil is black .e - mail me if you have any further questions

if it's a small leak, like maybe a few drops for a few minutes after you shut it off I would not worry about it. I've had such small minor leaks on the weep pins on my 135s and 165 over the years with no issues. But, steady oil drips are another story...

Under the transmission could be the rear seal from the engine. Is the oil black that's dripping? If not, it could be the trans. seal I think. One of the MF experts will be able to help you more. Dave

It could be engine oil or transmission oil. Or if you are really lucky , both.
