I need to take the header off of a 410 combine. I bought the combine years ago for parts ,yet never used it. I would be grateful for some instructions as to how to get the header off.The serial # is T-12oo495 on the header. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

You need the elevator off too, right up to the mill?If you just need to remove the quick attach head, than disregard the following instructions as the one we had was solid right to the mill. Remove the drive chains powering the headder,If I remember correctly, long one under the cab, short one on the right side.Put the head down, unhook the lift cylinder pins on the bottom of the cylinder.Unhook the hydraulic lines,so long as you don't hit the leaver, the oil will drain abit and stop leaking,an ice cream dish should catch it all.Put a jack under the header and take the weight off abit.Loosen the nuts on the bolts that fasten the clasp that holds the header to the machine, where the head pivitos.Drop the clasps. If it has an electric variable speed reele, you will need to unhood the wire, should be a connector on the wire somewhere on the header.Gently jerk the machine backwards a couple of times and you should be out.It will almost require two people to put it back together. The rock trap plate needs to be properly placed when sliding together, also the header may need to be jacked up or let down a fraction during replacement. Also the cylinders will need to be held up to properly be placed and not let to stick in the ground.Good luck and be very carefull.
