i got my operators manual for the plow this week. included free bird "gift" stains on the pages. yikes. maybe chuck b's offer was the better one!
anyway, it's got a date of publishing of 1962, and it's still quite propriatary, as the only tractors mentioned in it are MF models 65 and 85. for my frame of reference: basically i substitute a ford 3000 and smalller for the 65 and a 4000/5000 for the 85 and i think it reads the same except for a few details that the tractor manuals will cover.

I think this 4 bottom plow was maybe even originally a 2/3 bottom, as it has cat 1 pins and the book talks about number 1 and number 2 pins.

the only big question i have is on the width adjuster (big crank that you can reach from the seat). I was under the impression that beam width determined plow size. so how much affect does this adjuster actually have?

now to find a tail wheel and wear parts!

I posted a picture of my MF-690 tractor pulling a MF Model 74 plow. It is on page 2 now. You can see the plow in action. Tom

The plow bottom size is determined by the measurement from the center of one beam to the
center of the next beam 14" or 16" . The width
adjuster/big crank , turns the plow left or right
to adjust the cutting width of the front bottom.
If you are located anywhere near central Wi. there
is a fellow there with lots of parts. Points/shares are probably available at TSC or Fleet Farm.
