Whats the best way to get a little more power out of the Perkin's 510 V8?
would it be to turn the pump up?
Or put different piston's in it?
their Perkin's engines are awesome, and Ive wanted a 1150 for yrs, so i think Ill not be blinded by green,
and go hunting for a decent one and put duall's on it,
Massey Forever!!!!!

What are you planning to do with the 1150? We had one in the early 70's that we ran in the field and tractor pulled with. You can take the injectors and pump to a good diesel shop, have the injectors pop 200 - 250 psi higher, advance the timing, and have them increase the fuel by stand setting the injection pump so you have equal fuel on all cylinders. We ran a pair of homemade 4" pipe manifolds with dual 4" stacks. It was dyno tested at 225 HP for the field and worked like that for about 10 years. When I pulled it, we put eight 2 1/2" stacks on, cranked the fuel and RPM"s to 3500. Throw in a few fuel goodies and you will have a GREAT eight stack fire show at night, at least 10 to 12 inches of fire from each stack!!! I just loved those ole V-8'S.
