My right bucket cyl. started spewing oil the other day so I took it to my local hydraulic shop to have it repaired. The guy at the shop destroyed the head of the cylinder trying to unscrew it--he said it actually crumbled. Looking through my repair manual, it would appear that the cylinder is a PN 1605 006 M93. The component I need to replace is referred to as a "bearing". My Massey dealer told me that the AGCO PN was a 1606 035 M2, and would cost $215. Can anyone confirm these part numbers? I have included a picture in hopes someone can confirm that I have an MF34 loader as well. I have also provided a link to a scanned page that show my cylinder at the top--reference number 13 is the part the guy at the shop destroyed. Thanks!

Hi, Sure looks like a 34 loader. That p/n should
be right but find the s/n plate. The p/n listed
is correct for s/n 8110-7864 and up. Below that
s/n it is a diff no. The M2 suffix on the p/n
indicates some minor change in the part. M1 is
original-then m2,m3 etc if any changes. Changes
such as upgraded alloy, etc, etc.Anyway is likely
that the original could have given some problems.
Chuck

Thanks for the cross-check on the part number. I took a look, and my SN is L8110-9832. Hopefully I ordered the correct part from the AGCO guy!

I seem to recall that there is another pin or something on those cylinders that has to come out to take them apart? I hope your not planning to pay for the new part. If you took it to a shop and they broke it, they should pay to fix it. How could it just crumble? Did he put a big pipe wrench on it or use a proper size wrench or special tool? Your MF40 looks in good shape. They are a nice loader. Dave

I just looked at the scanned picture you provided. It is for a 34A loader. Your tractor has just a 34 loader. Check to make sure they use the exact same cylinders and parts. Dave
