Had a guy offer me an M.F. R4500 rowcrop tractor. It's fitted with a 3 cylinder Perkins engine, but with, what he called, "a Fiat rear end". I haven't saeen it yet, but, can anybody tell me what this thing is? regards, evan.

Hi again Marty, Thanks for the very useful link, I appreciate it. It looks very much like the Landini 4500 pictured, except the engine is a Perkins, and it is on long legs. The panelwork looks identical, but with an upswept exhaust. Can't remember any other differences, as I only got a quick look at it. Will post some pics when I get it back here. I have purchased it for AU$ 1300.00. regards for now, Evan.

This is not a Fiat rear end but it is a Landini made tractor. Guys mix up these two company for the simple fact they are both Italian. Landini was also manufacturing engines under a Perkins license.

Does MF still own Landini? That's how they got into crawlers in the first place. If it's like the one in the picture, it looks similar to a 35 with a few things different. Dave

Thanks Marty, so, I imagine these were a pre-decessor to the Landini made 104 and 204 series tractors released by M.F. Any idea what vintage this model was? thanks for your input, regards, Evan.

If it's a square hood like the other Masseys, its from the mid seventies.
