My 2745 power steering has been sort of chattering at low engine speeds lately. It sounds like the relief valve is opening too easily. My tractor doesn't have the powersteering pump on the engine, it must use hydraulic pressure from the transmission. Any ideas on what the cause could be? Everything else works fine, and the indicator lights are working properly.

Have you checked your spindels? They are not dry from lack of grease? Make sure the thrust bearings are good..Jack up the front end and see how it does with no weight on it! Is you hydraulic system slow and lazy at idle, maybe a week pump!.The releaf valve for the steering is in the valve body under the cab on the right side mounted on the transmission. There are two releaf valves in this valve body and I believe the bottom one is for steering and the top one is for the brakes.Put a presure guage in the auxilary hyd coupler and see what you have for preasure at idle.If the pump is good, should be at least 2000lb up to 2250lb.If this is ok then might need to clean the releaf valve
