Got this 101 Jr a while back, would start but. barely run and not for long. So we put in new valves and rebuilt the carb. the engine starts and runs nice. My problem is from an idle you only have about four clicks on the throttle to pretty much wide open. I've worked on the linkage and I'm sure thats ok, I'm thinking the problem may lay in the gov. anyone know what may be wrong or how to correct this problem. Thanks

Did you set the linkage the way massey says to adjust it.If you did then the problem would be in the gov.To set the throttle linkage unhook the rod from thr gov to the carb.Put the throttle lever about 3/4 throttle position.Push butterfly lever to the full throttle positon.Take the rod from the gov to carb and set it so the pin slides into the butterfly shaft without binding. If this does not help with the problem you will have to take the governor apart. There could be something broken or stuck inside.
