Hi All could one of you help me with a small problem with my MF 135 gas engine. I need to know which contact on the starter solenoid R or S does the wire for the fuel shutoff solenoid go on. I forgot to mark it and got busy with other things on the farm and now I can't remember where it went. Thank you very much.
JOHN

Neither. It should go to the ignition contact on the ignition switch.

Hi Gerald,
Are you sure the wire goes on the ignition contact on the ignition switch? I thought when I took it off it came off either the R or the S side of the starter solenoid. Thank you.
JOHN

Yes I'm sure. The carburetor solenoid needs power alll the time for the engine to run. The S terminal only has power while the starter is cranking. The R terminal is what makes the solenoid pull in.

The carburetor solenoid was probably a field addition and so its not in the original wiring diagram.

My MF-135 doesn't have that solenoid on the carburetor but my JD-4020 does. It was added in the field too.
