I just got a mf 165. I dont know how to make operate the 3 point correctly. I read on here to go to puddingword. but I cant find any info on there. Can anyone tell me where to get instructions on this. It has 2 hydraulic levers by the front of the seat. I made the 3 point go up but cant get it back down. The tractor had been sitting for 8 yrs. So I put hydraulic fluid in it. ( dont know it thats the correct fluid or not) any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Travis

Hello,
Just as a basic clarification to start;
Normally the hydraulic pump supplies oil to lift the 3-pt linkage only. From your description you have an isolating valve fitted to the front of the hydtaulic cover. The purpose of this valve is to allow you to divert oil to an external supply to use for tipping a trailer for example.
On the two lever valve that you describe one position will be to operate the 3-pt linkage and the other will be to operate an external supply. With this type of valve your other lever will be to operate the external. You will probably have two pipes coming from it but there may be only one. Select the external if you can and operate the other lever. Check the the quadrant levers at the side are in DRAFT raised and POSITION lever in 'Constant pumping'. If the system is working you should see the hose/s stiffen as the pressure is applied.
To lower the linkage lower the POSITION lever. If this does not work, come back and we'll go to the next step.
