Which company built the MF 450 Round Baler? Was it a very good baler and were there any common problems with it? What years were they built? How much PTO horsepower is required to operate it?

and yes they are a Vermeer and you can get your parts from them cheeper then MF but things like bearings are all standard size and belt all we used were after market from Fleet farm or any place that sells of the roll

they need nice big windrows and you have to go real fast and at the start you have to zig zag over the windrow from side to side. we custom bailed with on for years well over 100,000 + bails and ran it with a 270 Leland tractor takes a little touch to get the hang of it but they will bail with the best of them

They were built by Vermeer, I had a MF-560, same as Vermeer 605C, mine was a 1975 model. I pulled the 560 With a Ford 4000, the 3 cylinder diesel, about 50 HP. They work just like a Vermeer, sometimes good sometimes not so good. They are hard to start a bale if the hay is to dry or wet, needs to be just right. I used mine for 30 years before getting a 604L Vermeer. It is a great Baler.
