Don....enjoyed the b4 as well as the progress pics. Looks like you went all the way thru the tractor.

....inspires me to tackle the 165....if I ever get thru w/ the 860.

Looks like you done a great paint job, but the grey looks like the grey used on the To 20 and To 30 Ferguson tractors. To bad the NAPA store guided you to the wrong color, it should be flint metallic grey which is darker.

The red and grey paint is from my local NAPA store. They called their distributor and got the paint codes for Massey Ferguson. I'm still not sure this is the correct grey for the year but once it was on I thought it looked OK.

Nice Tractor!!! I just purchased a 65 with a stuck engine. I removed head and found #2 cyl. sleeve sucked into the crankcase. Sure hope my tractor runs as good as yours looks! did you go into the engine at all?

The engine work consisted of a new water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, main and rod bearings and rear main seal. Despite the very high hours, the crank was good and standard bearings and thrust washers were used. I think there had been some work done on the engine by a previous owner. It had a new injection pump.

Other work done was transmission seals and inner/outer axel seals and bearings, a complete new clutch with bearings, a complete brake job, all cross shaft, spindle and steering bushings.

If I wrote a book about this project it would be called

Good luck with yours.
